Part I of a short series of videos introducing the concept of repression in psychoanalysis, beginning with Lacan’s interview to the French magazine L’Express in 1957.

Really terrific explanation Owen! This will be ‘prescribed viewing’ for all the students I work with in Lacan teaching contexts. HUGELY appreciated!
So can repression manifest chronic body pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis as somatic symptoms? If so what needs to happen to connect the splitting and release, relieve the symptoms?
I have read some of your (Owen) articles in this site and also listened to your enlinghtning explanation of the graph of desire. I have liked them all. This one I tried to listen but in the background there is a music playing wich is rather disturbing and I had to stop the tape, unfortunately, because the subject is very interesting and I really would liked to hear it all.
Thank you so much for this video, Owen!
