  • Lacanian analyst Darian Leader will be discussing Lacanian diagnosis in a public lecture at the University of Sussex on Friday 16th September. More details: http://bit.ly/rq0sNE

 

  • Coming up in Omaha, Nebraska next month for the thirtieth anniversary of Lacan’s death: ‘Lacan, Here, Now’, a lecture by Thomas Svolos, Friday 9th September. More information: http://bit.ly/qM6Sox

 

  • The Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research in London has just published its public seminar programme for the autumn term, beginning Saturday 1st October: http://bit.ly/qouZum. Also on their site are details of this year’s Introductory Course, Psychoanalytic Studies Course, and a Short Course on the differential clinic of hysteria and psychosis.   • Judith Miller has compiled a calendar of events in France marking the 30thanniversary of Lacan’s death. It’s in French, but highlights include:
    • The publication of Seminar XIX, ‘Or Worse…’ [‘Ou Pire…’] and a collection of three conferences published under the title ‘I’m Speaking to the Walls’ [‘Je parle aux murs’] on 25th August
    • Gérard Miller’s film ‘Meet Lacan’ [‘Rendez-vous chez Lacan’], to be broadcast on France 3 at 10pm on 5th September
    • The launch of an online news service, ‘Daily Lacan’ [‘Lacan Quotidien’], which will be multi-lingual.

  • If you speak French, you can check out the first few pages of Jacques-Alain Miller’s new book Vie de Lacan [Life of Lacan], based on the theme of his 2009-2010 L’Orientation lacanienne course in Paris, here: http://bit.ly/q3lkkQ. The book will be out (in French) on 5th September.
